Introduction to Dimensioning
Dimensions are used to specify shape and size of entities. Dimensions in sketch environment should not be confused with dimensions in engineering drawing as they can be represented in same way or in a different way. Purpose of dimensions in sketch is to constrain the size and shape of object whereas purpose of dimensions in drawing is to represent engineering intent of the component for manufacturer. You will learn about drawing dimensions later in the book. Here, we will discuss the use of dimensioning tools in sketch.
